Concord Baptist Church Chase City, VA
Concord Baptist Church Ministries
Deacon Chairman, Deacon George Taylor
The office of deacon is one of ministry and service to Jesus Christ through His church. According to Acts 6: 3-5, a deacon is full of the Spirit, wisdom, faith, and of a good reputation. One thing that comes with being a deacon is visibility. The Deacons Ministry at Concord serves the Lord by conducting the caring ministry of the church, doing benevolence work, visiting the sick, being alert to the spiritual needs of the congregation for the purposes of freeing the pastor to focus on prayer and the ministry of the Word, promoting unity within the church, and facilitating the spread of the gospel.
At Concord, we take care to provide ministry for the total person. Our goal is to provide unity and maturity within the body of Christ by teaching church leadership as well as followship that is relevant to this present age and culture.
"As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received." Eph.4: 1-6

The Concord Sunday School aims at helping people from all age groups to adopt the principles of God. Sunday school education intends to teach the people the ways to adhere to ideals in life. At times, this involves the learning of scriptures from the Bible. Learning what the Bible has to say helps our members to communicate with God. Enabling the communication of a common man with God is an important goal of our Sunday school aimed at bringing about a spiritual growth.

The Pastoral Care Ministry serves to financially, morally and spiritually assist the pastor in his ministry. Some of the ministry's duties include praying for the pastor and his family, raising funds for the church's special pastoral celebrations and assisting with the planning of these church events, and recognition of pastor's spouse and family special days. The aid ministry is important to the pastor because it's their support that relieves his burdens when the job gets tough.
